Life is really like that box of chocolates.

You really never know what you're going to get.
Unexpected situations come and go and the beauty of life is that, although things may reoccur, they are never the same.
Just like an assorted box of chocolates, each candy has it's own character, shape, it may taste similar, but are they really the same?
To be honest, life to me at this moment is a scary thing. I'm not "scared", because I've never really feared the thought of death, if it's my turn to pass, it's my turn ya know?
I look at my life as a blessing. Each day I live is something I am thankful for, something that I cherish and praise the Lord for.
I would rather myself be hurt then someone close to me. I would risk my life to save the ones I love.
That is what scares me half to death about the life I live, is losing the ones you love & living it alone.
Are the struggles we are facing, going to the joys of tomorrow?
God has a reason for everything, a plan for us.
From the day we were born he already knew what we were going to be, do, see, hear...but also gave us the gift of choice.
Not everything in our lives can be explained, but we live each day w/ purpose.
To me right now, this blog is about a whole bunch of jumbled things in my head that I can't really explain.
I can write on this blank computer template, but these aren't the things that are circulating in my head.
Life is God's gift to us, and we shall live it according to His plan.
I pray for myself, my family, my friends, my town, my state, my country, the world as a whole.
Whatever life may throw at you...whatever chocolate it is...take it w/ a sense of purpose & meaning and make the most of what you are given.
Be blessed & always love.

Thank you! I Love You all! :)

Where do I even begin?

First and foremost I would like to thank my Lord, Jesus Christ for the blessings he has given my family and I.
I am so grateful and thankful that he has sparred my life and has given me the opportunity to live & serve Him.
When your life flashes before your eyes and you realize how short it can be, it brings forth the realization of how important everything is.
How much God watches over you, even when we don't deserve it, he continues to guide us and never gives up on us.

Second, I want to thank all of you for all the prayers and for the LOVE you continued to offer my family and I! We appreciate all of them and are so thankful each and everyday for you :)

So many of you were left wondering, what in the world happened?
The past 2 days have been by far the best days, so w/ my first day back online, I will update you all on my condition.

What happened that day:
So this day was a typical day. Studying for school, and I was just going to the gym to get my exercise in.
Before I left my house, I drank some "Herbal Tea" that was suppose to be a "Cleansing" tea since I was on a fruit/vegetable cleanse for the week.
This was the same tea that caused my dad to have a bit of an "upset" stomach a few days prior but I never thought it would have the same effect on me.
As I was at the gym, I did a warm up on the stationary bike, which I usually do for 30-45 minutes. I was only able to get on for about 25+ and started to feel dizzy and had an upset stomach.
I felt the need to just go to the restroom and just rest. As I got to the locker room i felt dizzy and faint. I finally went to one of the stalls but I don't remember anything from this point on.
I passed out and eventually hit my head somewhere. I do remember someone asking me briefly if I was okay, I became conscious for a while, but black out again for who knows how long?
About 30-45 minutes later, I was awake, dizzy, and sitting next to my locker trying to figure out my combination.
I guess I blanked out enough that I wasn't able to remember the combination, so one of the workers at the gym,  had to cut it off for me.
5 minutes later I gathered my stuff, walked out of the gym, went to my car and DROVE HOME!
Looking back at this, this has to be the scariest part of this situation.
I don't really remember driving home, and something worse could have definitely happened. An accident. A seizure. or anything more life threatening.
*sigh* Finally, I was able to go home and was greeted by my mom who was concerned because she said I was very pale and looked horrible.
I fell asleep for about an hour, and was woken up by an pain, an immense dizzy spell and nausea that I will never forget.
My mom said that we needed to go to the ER, but me being stubborn, I declined saying I was okay and just tired.
A few minutes later, I began to projectile vomit and finally stopped being stubborn and went to the ER.

After more vomiting and pain in my head, I was able to get an XRay/Scan of my head.
They found some pretty heavy bruising and bleeding in 3 spots of my brain and I was transfered to the ICU because of the need to maybe drill a hole in my head to drain some fluid to relieve some of the pressure.
About 6 hours later, another scan was done, and they discovered that the bleeding and bruising had subsided and that I just needed to be closely monitored for a few days.
To make this long story short, I was in the hospital for 5 days and was finally discharged home.
I was happy to finally be home, but the excruciating pain, nausea, and fatigue was by far the worst experience in my life, but I was just thankful to be alive and well.
Finally after a hectic 2 weeks, things are starting to slowly get better. I am able to walk around a bit (with help), eat a little more, and the pain and nausea is managed.

My family & friends
I don't even know how and where to begin to thank my family and friends.
I am the luckiest person alive. To have the most loving Dad and Mom that I have, the brother, and girlfriend who haven't left my side.
The things they went through, just to make sure I was okay, reminded me that I am the luckiest and most blessed person.
God has just given me the best support system and the most loving family that anybody could ever ask for.
So to my Mom, Dad, Kuya, and Jenny I LOVE you all and am so thankful for everything you have done!!! :)
Also, to all my Cousins and relatives, Close Friends  and anyone else who visited me in the hospital who stayed the nights; Josh, Ken, Jordan, Justin, JonJon, Roxane, Ruby, etc...I can keep naming everyone but I would be here forever!! :)
To all my high school and college friends, facebook and twitter family and everyone else, I appreciate your LOVE, THOUGHTS and PRAYERS!!
I am the most blessed person and I will never forget you all who stayed w/ me.

So thank you. I LOVE YOU.
May the Lord bless each and everyone of you always.
Continue to pray through the good and the bad.
He will never leave us or forsake us. Make Him the center of your life and remember that we are nothing w/out Him!
Thank you again and I will keep you all posted on any news I receive.
*HUGS* to all :)

Always,

Happy together.

Time flies when you're in love.
People always say...you gain weight when you're in LOVE!
But nobody ever says you can lose weight together.
Jenny and I tell each other all the time, we are the "Power Couple"
We will hold each other accountable.
So we were in the car today, and she knows how much juicing has improved my health.
While we were driving today, she was saying she needs to get healthy too.
I told her she should juice and cleanse w/ me this week.
& so we went to the grocery store and bought some fresh fruits & a couple veggies to juice.
I love that we can grow FAT together, but we can also get healthy together.
She has been one of my biggest supporters, through my attempt to get my health back.
I know she says "I love you way you are" and says she likes her men w/ meat on em'.
&& boy am I meaty!
But I also love that she will do this w/ me and try to get healthy w/ me.
Juicing today was so fun and I'm glad that I got to make her some YUMMY fruit juice!
It ain't no green juice for sure, but it's the start of health for us.
We are happy together. Get fat together (well just me). && Get healthy together :)

Following the plan.

There are times in our lives where we need bumps in the road.
I'm not just talking about weight loss or getting healthy.
This is about life.
Sometimes I forgot why we are here, and that's to serve God.
I am guilty of letting the world consume me.
Letting things that don't matter, matter in my life and center these things.
One thing I need to do in 2010 is get back to the basics and remember "why".
It's so easy to be the "superhero" and do everything on your own.
But life would not be LIFE w/out a walk with the Lord.
Here is my prayer for today:
Dear Jesus,
May I live my life according to YOUR plan and NOT MINE.
May YOU walk by my side and no matter where YOU take me I will follow.
May YOUR light shine in my life so others can see the plans YOU have for them.
May I be your vessel in all that I do and how I live my life.
This is back to square one Lord. YOU and I are a team and I will follow.
There is a unique plan set out for me and even though it's not clear, I will follow.
Thank you Jesus for always sticking by me even though I don't deserve it.
So I pray all these things in YOUR name.
Amen.

Determination.

As I woke up this morning at 230am, 345am, 430am, and 530am...
I struggled to get out of bed and go to clinical.
Little did I know that I would have the kind of energy I had for most of the day.
Drank Green Juice #1 at 630am
Then from then on until about 230pm, all I had was 2 bottles of water.
Took my lunch at 230 after an extremely busy morning, and got Green Juice #2 in.
w/ some green tea (and some nuts)
I tried to go w/out the nuts and just juiced today, but I needed a little pick me up.
After the shift I had Green Juices #3 and #4 while waiting for my dad to pick me up.
&& this is where I wondered how in the world am I going to go to the gym.
I've always been too tired (especially after a 13 hour shift!)
But this day was different.
The "Old Russy" who went to the gym no matter how tired he was...SPOKE!
I usually would've said "I have tomorrow", or the next.
BUT I'm tired of making excuses that I'm too TIRED!
Everybody is tired. But it's those people who take care of their bodies, are the ones who stay healthy.
I'm proud and happy that I accomplished something I hadn't accomplished in all of nursing school.
There has probably only been 1 or 2 times where this has happened.
& I know there are going to be some days where I am EXHAUSTED.
But a little gym, is better than NO gym.
This is the beginning of the start of something GREAT!
I feel it coming back. I feel the mentality starting to surface.
THIS IS IT!!
